Holy Rain!
The NH Sheep and wool festival was quite a success for us. Number one, we survived the rain that weekend and in a pop up camper at that! Nobody floated away, although the kids tried really hard a few times. Concord, NH got 7 inches of rain over the weekend. Number two, we got our name on the waiting list for next year so maybe you can see us in our own booth! Thanks to all who braved the high waters and made it to the show. If we don't see you next year in our own booth, we will be there with Chris Morgan again.

Roving Bump Winder!
We have just installed a center pull bump winder on our carder. This is a great little tool to package the roving in wonderfully neat and compact bumps. It doesn't roll around the floor when you are spinning, or get mashed up inside a bag. It seems that the roving keeps in storage for several years, as long as the bugs don't get to it. For those of you who resale the roving, it make a great presentation. The cost to make the bumps is a mere $1/lb extra.

NH Sheep and Wool Festival
Through the generosity of a wonderful lady, Chris Morgan of Woolybuns, we are joining her in her booth at the NH Sheep and Wool Festival. After you purchase a bit more fiber for your already out of control stash, bring it to us and we'll turn it into the roving or yarn of your dreams!

We will be showcasing the Buffalo(bison) yarns and blends that we are creating, as well as hand painted Samoyed Sled Dog yarn. Also there will be Mohair, Angora, and Wool blends and some Border Leicester yarn, too. Buffalo Track earrings in gold and silver will also be available to go with your Buffalo scarf or sweater.

See you there!

CT Sheep and Wool Festival
Thanks to all who came to see us at the CT Sheep and Wool Festival. It turned out to be a great day in all respects including the weather! We plan on fixing that terrible green lighting from the skylight next year. Here is a link to a picture so you can see how terrible the lighting really was!

American Buffalo Fiber Contest
$1000 Grand Prize

Wild Fibers Magazine is holding a contest sponsored by Buffalo Gold. $1000 shopping spree at any participating Wild Fibers advertiser. Create anything, using 100% buffalo fiber of course. The contest is open to spinning, weaving, knitting, felting and any other use of buffalo fiber. The buffalo fiber can be acquired from any source or vendor; purchased or gathered from a buffalo rancher or park, but your entry must use all buffalo fiber. Exceptions to the "all buffalo fiber" rule would include framing, mounting, linings, fasteners and the like. Of course, use of buffalo leather, bone and horn is encouraged but not necessary.

New Equipment
In conjunction with Cecil Miskin and the 2HL Buffalo Ranch, we are now pleased to offer lace weight spinning capabilities for our customers. This allows us to spin the wonderful fiber that is less than 2 inches long. Bison and Cashmere, for example, are two very fine and very short fibers making them a more difficult fiber to spin. Spinning their singles fine and applying slightly more twist will keep the yarn from unraveling and pilling. Plying to a 3, 4, 5, or more yarn will create the desired thickness. Please contact us for lace weight spinning prices.

Llamas!
In September, 2005, we added 2 llamas, Rascal and Iris, to our large herd of 5 aging sheep. They were given to us as the previous owners herd was getting too large. They are both very fun animals and are quite curious. They are both 6 years old. Rascal is a gelding and is brown. Iris is a female and is white and brown. Her eyes are two toned, each being half blue.
